You must take personal responsibility. You cannot change the circumstances, the seasons, or the wind, but you can change yourself. That is something you have charge of.

A different kind of clinical conversation

MA, RPC-MPCC ICADC CCAC Daring Way™ Certified

I'm a Registered Professional Counsellor based in Victoria, BC, with over two decades of experience working with individuals and couples facing addiction, disordered eating, shame, and the profound complexity of midlife identity. My approach is humanistic and person-centred — rooted in the belief that when we understand what is truly getting in our way, we can find the path toward connection, joy, and a truer sense of belonging. Much of my clinical work integrates the research of Dr. Brené Brown and The Daring Way™ shame resilience curriculum. I am one of a small number of clinicians in Canada working at the specific intersection of hormonal transition and addiction recovery — an underserved area.

I created the Bloom Recovery Program because I kept meeting the same woman — intelligent, capable, quietly drowning — whose struggles were being treated in isolation from the hormonal shifts rewriting her brain chemistry. She deserved better. You deserve better.

My approach draws on evidence-based addiction treatment, somatic and trauma-informed practice, and Brené Brown's Daring Way™ and Dare to Lead™ frameworks. Shame resilience isn't just a concept I teach — it's the foundation I work from.

"Be a lamp, or a lifeboat, or a ladder. Help someone's soul heal."

~ Rumi

I believe recovery is not about fixing what's broken. It's about remembering who you are.
